Or: Why a site about movie cults instead of a site about cult movies?

Simply, there are a hell of a lot of good sites already that tackle the major cool movie types: bad bad movies, good bad movies, B movies, and horror movies.

It occurred to me that, in the realm of cheesy flicks, I was particularly tickled by movies about the Dangerous Cult Menace. These are still made occasionally, but the real heyday was the Seventies, when, it seemed, EVERYONE was after you. If it wasn't the government, it was the devil. If it wasn't the devil, it was Charistmatic Cult Leaders, who always, in one way or another, wanted your death. The Evil Cultists could be anyone - old ladies, teachers, priests, college co-eds, or your very own husband/wife/child, just waiting for a way to dupe you and use you for their nefarious purposes.

My original intent is to limit the films in question to ones fueled by human evils and not supernatural ones, ie., vampire groups or werewolf colonies.  But a good case could made for vampires or zombies or shadowy conspiracy groups trying to Take Over the World as cults, too. They all want the same thing. They want YOU.
